Ricky Kloosterman
During the open days the projects REJECTED and Last Journey have been showed.
The project Last Journey was nominated by a jury of international automotive design experts. The assignment of the competition was aimed at ideas for new mobility-related concepts for 2015 in the broadest sense of the word. Move awards 2014; The competition is aimed at ideas for new mobility-related concepts in the broadest sense of the word. We are looking for multi-dimensional expressions designing future towards 2050, touching our senses, expressing different demands in mobility: in vision, projection, products, material, identity, innovation, imagination, inspiration and experience!”
The winners have been announced at de Milano Design week, the Salone del Mobile. Ricky Kloosterman has got a special honor, and was invited to do an half year internship at the BMW group Advanced materials.
During the open days the projects EMBRACE and BUIDL have been showed.
The project Embrace has been sponsored by Viva Fabrics and Broeinest Eindhoven.

The Project EMBRACE will be shown at the Dutch Design Week from 17 October till the 25th of October. The project will be part of the Graduation show in the witte dame, one of the hotspots of the Dutch design week. More information is written on the website of Design Academy Eindhoven and the Dutch Design Week.

The project EMBRACE of Ricky Kloosterman is Nominated for the Keep an eye grant and the Rene Smeets award. Design Academy Eindhoven collaborates with different funds and partners. This upcoming graduation show –October17-25th, 2015- the winners will be announced. The awards are stimulating young designers to keep develop further.

Restaurant of the world is a new concept of a restaurant interior. Ricky has made an interior advice for this restaurant space. The restaurant concept is all about meeting new food, meeting new cultures, and having a new world experience. The restaurant is set up by refugees, and the employees are refugees, from all different cultures. In the world map on the wall you can see where they come from, this stimulates to talk about the different countries, cultures and habits. On the conveyor belt there is food, from different cultures. Every continent has an other colour bowl. This food will make a round though the “Restaurant of the world”.
This was one of the jobs Ricky has done during her internship at interior design company Whitespace in Bangkok. Whitespace was involved in many designs of Apple stores in Thailand, with all kind of new products. Together with collegues Ricky designed new furniture products to display new products that have been launched by Apple. Ricky drew a lot of technical drawings of the furniture in this project.
This interior design is made during Ricky’s internship at Dutchy Design in Amsterdam. The concept for this spa was a sleek white design, with the four elements of water, fire, earth and air incorporated in the interior. These elements came from the Mayan massages that are given in the space. Ricky was part of the hole process of this spa design for the interior, technical drawings, renderings, cost calculations, and the final implementation of building the spa.
This typeface is made by Ricky. She used a grid, and discovered more about graphic design, fonts, colors and compositions.
